This project modernized the aging electrical infrastructure at the Leon County Courthouse, replacing critical service and emergency power equipment that had become obsolete. To reduce environmental impact and costs, the design team retrofitted existing switchboards and reused substantial amounts of steel and copper, while also upgrading lighting to energy-efficient LEDs. With the courthouse supporting vital government operations and regional infrastructure, minimizing downtime was essential. The majority of the work was strategically completed over Thanksgiving weekend 2021 to avoid disrupting services. Despite supply chain challenges, the team maintained the schedule through close coordination with manufacturers and the strategic sourcing of alternative components.
