H2Engineering provided full MEPF design, telecommunications, AV and security systems, construction administration, and life cycle cost analysis in support of the redevelopment of Littlewood Elementary School in Gainesville, FL.
The completed project expanded campus capacity from 588 to 750 students and introduced three new buildings totaling 44,771 square feet. Nine existing buildings underwent targeted renovations to improve functionality, and the cafeteria was enlarged by 1,113 square feet with added outdoor seating and custodial space. The administration building was also modernized with a secure, enclosed entryway to strengthen campus safety.
Campus-wide improvements included upgraded mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, enhanced IT and security infrastructure, and restored playgrounds and playfields. During construction, students were temporarily relocated to nearby Westwood Middle School to ensure uninterrupted learning.
Today, the revitalized campus blends new and modernized facilities—including food service areas, classroom buildings, administration, a music building, media center, skills lab, and dedicated art and multi-purpose spaces—creating a vibrant, secure, and future-ready learning environment.
