Project Overview

We provided full commissioning services for the design and construction of the new 127,900 GSF Baseball Stadium, located on a 13.6-acre site at the University of Florida’s main campus. This state-of-the-art facility includes spectator seating, a stadium club, home plate club seating, public restrooms, a first aid room, concession areas, retail space, entry lobby, training and sports administration areas, locker rooms, a recruiting lounge, media and meeting rooms, a weight room, sports medicine and training facilities, equipment and laundry rooms, playing and practice fields, a kids’ zone, bullpens, dugouts, press box, scoreboard, vertical circulation, concourses, supporting roadwork, and parking for approximately 450–500 vehicles.

Commissioning services were provided throughout both the design and construction/acceptance phases, covering the building envelope, as well as mechanical (HVAC/BAS), electrical, plumbing (domestic hot water), and security systems.

Our work followed the Enhanced Commissioning process for LEED Certification and contributed to the facility earning Green Globes Certification for sustainability. Commissioning tasks included developing the Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR), reviewing the Basis of Design (BoD), design document reviews, implementation of the commissioning plan, development of pre-functional and functional checklists, coordination with the construction schedule, system start-up observation, functional performance testing, training participation, final commissioning reporting, and compilation of the systems manual.
