Building Area: 90,000
Description
This project involved designing a new 90,000 SF multi-story classroom/laboratory building called The Ghazvini Center for Health Care Education at Tallahassee Community College. The ground floor is dedicated to labs and training areas, the second floor is home to classrooms, and the upper floor is allocated for administrative and faculty use.
Specific areas within the center include nursing labs, dental hygiene labs, a simulation training center, respiratory labs, radiology technology labs, and EMS/EMT training labs. This facility was crafted with the student’s needs in mind, offering areas beyond the classrooms and labs for collaborative study sessions. It is open 24 hours a day, with a secure entry system that uses programmable “smart doors” for students to access the building using their card keys, ensuring safety at all times. The main entrance boasts a 60-foot tall glass and steel facade, featuring skylights. The building’s framework is made of structural steel with a metal deck, and the East Wing’s lower level includes an 80-car parking garage.
