H2Engineering designed a new 42,810 square foot City Hall and Police Department & EOC facility in Lynn Haven, FL, replacing buildings destroyed by Hurricane Michael. The new public safety building, located on the same site, is built to withstand 150+ mph winds and includes redundant power and mechanical systems. The historic City Hall was renovated for office use, and a community courtyard was added. The first floor of City Hall features City Council Chambers, offices, conference rooms, breakrooms, and restrooms, while the second floor houses the Police Department with an emergency operations center, evidence room, situation room, kitchen, locker rooms, and offices. The emergency communications center is protected with redundant systems and fire-rated construction. The building has redundant generators, multiple communication entry points, and cellular backup. HVAC design includes redundant systems, and low voltage design covers telecommunications, security, and audio-visual capabilities, including wireless collaboration, video capture, remote broadcasting, and multi-media video walls.
