The Business Development Manager-Engineering Sales will be responsible for driving strategic growth initiatives, expanding client relationships, and identifying new opportunities throughout North and Central Florida. This individual will serve as a key ambassador of the firm, working closely with leadership and technical staff to strengthen existing partnerships while developing new business opportunities across public and private sectors.
This role requires a highly motivated professional with a proven track record in engineering, architecture, construction, or professional services business development. The ideal candidate is relationship-focused, strategic, self-directed, and experienced in navigating complex sales cycles within the AEC industry.
This position is a remote work position located within our service territory. Candidates must reside in North to Central Florida and be willing to travel throughout Florida and neighboring Southeastern states to support client development, relationship management, and business growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic business development plans to achieve company growth objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, architects, contractors, owners, developers, and government agencies.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new project opportunities.
- Collaborate with firm leadership and technical teams to position H2Engineering for upcoming opportunities.
- Lead client outreach efforts, including meetings, presentations, networking events and industry functions.
- Maintain and expand relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within target markets.
- Track market trends, funding initiatives, capital improvement programs, and emerging opportunities.
- Coordinate with the marketing team on proposals, qualifications packages, interviews, and promotional materials.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, opportunities, and business development activities.
- Travel regularly throughout our service region to support client engagement and relationship-building efforts.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and help identify opportunities for cross-selling the firm’s services.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of business development, sales, client relations, or account management experience within the engineering, architecture, construction, or professional services industry.
- Demonstrated success generating new business opportunities and growing client relationships.
- Established network of contacts within North Florida’s public and private development markets preferred.
- Strong understanding of the engineering consulting industry and project delivery process.
- Excellent verbal communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with executives, project managers, engineers, architects, contractors, and public officials.
- Experience developing strategic pursuit plans and managing long-term sales cycles.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple pursuits simultaneously.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience selling engineering, architecture, construction, or technical consulting services.
- Existing relationships with educational, municipal, state, healthcare, and commercial clients throughout North and Central Florida.
- Understanding of public procurement processes, RFQs, RFPs, and consultant selection procedures.
