Description

This projected consists of a 95,000 square foot complex for Leon County / City of Tallahassee to house an  emergency operation center, 911 joint dispatch, FDOT regional traffic management, EMS, fire department, and sheriff’s administration. The state-of-art facility will be able to withstand winds from a Category 3 hurricane or F4 tornado. This facility is home to the City of Tallahassee Regional Transportation Management, the Leon County Emergency Medical Services, and the Tallahassee Fire Department Administration.

Special HVAC systems, such as computer room CRAC units and in-row chilled water cooling units were also incorporated. The electrical design consisted of interior lighting, exterior building lighting and parking lot and yard area lighting. Lighting automation was also incorporated with a combination of occupancy sensors and lighting relay panels. All mechanical and electrical systems were designed with N+1 capability.

The electrical design included an extensive standby power system.  The standby power system consists of three one megawatt, diesel generators designed to operate in parallel and serve the entire facility.  Two redundant, one megawatt UPS systems were included to protect critical loads within the facility from any interruption of power.  There are 17,000 gallons of diesel fuel located onsite. Critical loads in the facility include a 3500 square foot data center and a 911 dispatch center.  A DALI lighting system was employed throughout the facility and was integrated with the building AV systems.
